This SN was discovered by the Texas Virgo cluster survey team

(IAUC 8446)</a> on November 25, 2004, and absent on June 12, 2004.

The host galaxy 
<a href="http://nedwww.ipac.caltech.edu/cgi-bin/nph-objsearch?objname=ic+3311&extend=no&out_csys=Equatorial&out_equinox=J2000.0&obj_sort=RA+or+Longitude&of=pre_text&zv_breaker=30000.0&list_limit=5&img_stamp=YES">IC 3311</a> 
is at z=-0.000407 (NED. And yes, it is a blueshift.).<br>

Spectrum reported by Quimby et al. (IAUC 8446) shows this is a type Ic SN.
