This SN was discovered by LOSS
<a href="http://cfa-www.harvard.edu/iauc/08400/08465.html#item1"> 
(IAUC 8465)</a> on Jan. 13, 2005, and absent on December 24, 2004, 
so discovered rather young.<br> 
<br>
The host galaxy 
<a href="http://nedwww.ipac.caltech.edu/cgi-bin/nph-objsearch?objname=ngc+1032&extend=no&out_csys=Equatorial&out_equinox=J2000.0&obj_sort=RA+or+Longitude&of=pre_text&zv_breaker=30000.0&list_limit=5&img_stamp=YES">NGC 1032</a> 
is at z=0.008986(NED).<br>

Our DBSP spectrum indicates type Ib, while a spectrum reported by Foley et al. (IAUC 8465) shows this is a type Ib/c SN.
