SN 2005an:<br>

This SN was discovered by LOSS (CBET 113)
on March 3, 2005, and absent on January 20, 2005. 
Featureless blue spectra and rising LC indicate it is young.<br> 
<br>
The host galaxy 
<a href="http://nedwww.ipac.caltech.edu/cgi-bin/nph-objsearch?objname=eso+506-G11&extend=no&out_csys=Equatorial&out_equinox=J2000.0&obj_sort=RA+or+Longitude&of=pre_text&zv_breaker=30000.0&list_limit=5&img_stamp=YES">ESO 506-G11</a> 
is at z=0.011014 (NED).<br>
<br>
Spectra reported by Modjaz et al. (CBET 113) and by SNfactory 
<a href="http://www.astronomerstelegram.org/?read=435">ATEL 435</a> shows this is a young type II SN.
