IRMOS Feasibility Study

Caltech and its science and technical partners are conducting a feasibility study of the IRMOS science instrument capability for TMT.  Our concept, known as TiPi, utilizes a tiled focal plane feeding a number of simple, identical integral field unit (IFU) spectrographs and wavefront sensors (WFS), with an upgrade path to increasing science field of regard and sensitivity with advancing MEMS deformable mirror technology.
