Keck Travel Support
The Caltech Optical Observatories will provide funds in support of travel to and from Hawaii for eligible observers
using the Keck telescopes.
Qualifications
- The observer must have no other sources of support (grants, stipends, etc.) for such travel.
- The observing must be in support of a Caltech project; that is, allocated by the Director of COO. Caltech
observers collaborating with principal
investigators from other institutions are not eligible for this travel support.
- Support will be provided for only one person, formally affiliated with Caltech, per observing run.
Support
The level of support will depend on the length of the observing run:

Requests for Support
Requests for travel support should be submitted at least two weeks prior to the observing run to Robert
Brucato
(brucato@astro.caltech.edu), and include the following information:
- Name and institution of the observer.
- Name and institution of the principal investigator.
- Date(s) of the observing run and telescope to be used.
Administration
- Travel arrangements are the responsibility of the observer. Check with
your group administrator or department secretary for assistance.

- Requests for travel advance and travel reports are to be sent directly to the Caltech Travel Office for
processing; copies to the Caltech Optical Observatories

Researchers are reminded that observing at Keck may be conducted from the Remote Observing Facility in
