Observing an object

There are a number of important concerns when observing a science object with a Fabry-Perot instrument. Since you will probably be spending a substantial amount of time observing a given object, be sure to give careful consideration ahead of time to issues such as the position and orientation of the object in the field of view, the desirability of obtaining complete Nyquist-sampled velocity cubes, etc. We now briefly touch on a number of these issues, and then describe the procedure for making science observations with the Fabry-Perot instrument.
