Veil Nebula Supernova Remnant

The Veil Nebula supernova remnant is more than 4,000 years older than the Crab Nebula supernova remanant. It is much larger in space than the Crab Nebula as it has had more time to expand. It covers over an area five times the size of the full Moon in the sky. This image comes from the Palomar 48-inch Samuel Oschin Telescope taken as a part of the Second Palomar Observatory Sky Survey.
