Welcome to the website of the Palomar Observatory.
The Palomar Observatory is located in north San Diego County California. It is owned and operated by the California Institute of Technology. For over half a century the Palomar Observatory has been a world-class center of astronomical research. Its facilities support the research of the Caltech faculty, post-doctoral fellows and students, and that of the researchers at Caltech's collaborating institutions.
