The Dr. Laurence R. Meyerson and Ms. Deborah L. Faiman Travel Award for Research in Astronomy at Caltech
We are pleased to announce the inaugural 2013 Laurence R. Meyerson and Deborah L. Faiman Graduate Student Travel Award for Research in Astronomy. This competitive award provides $1,000 to an Astronomy Graduate Student or Postdoctoral Fellow toward the costs of travel and registration to attend a domestic scientific meeting or conference. It has been generously funded by the philanthropy of Dr. Meyerson and Ms. Faiman. Dr. Meyerson whose background is in biochemistry and drug development graciously extends his support to education and research in astronomical science. Ms. Faiman's background is in land acquisition and development, and for many years she has maintained a keen interest in supporting the advancement of applied research in biomedical, physical and theoretical sciences.
Eligibility: Must be an active graduate student or postdoctoral fellow at the time of the award in the Department of Astronomy with an approved research project in observational, theoretical, or experimental astronomy.
