Helin Commemorative Exhibit Dedication

14 June 2014

Thanks to a generous gift from the trust of Dr. Eleanor Helin and her husband Ronald, Palomar Observatory is pleased to announce the Helin Commemorative Exhibit titled Searching the Sky for Dangerous Neighbors at the observatory's A.W. Greenway Visitor Center. This exhibit commemorates the the scientific contributions of Dr. Helin and the Palomar 18-inch Schmidt telescope. It includes a display of the Palomar 18-inch telescope and topical panels, videos, and artifacts that describe the important work of identifying potentially hazardous NEOs and Dr. Helin's significant contributions to that work.

The dedication of the Helin Commemorative Exhibit will be held on Saturday 14 June 2014. The event's keynote speaker will be Dr. Amy Mainzer (JPL), who will be discussing the science of the NEOWISE mission.
