The ADPF Card Reader

The Caltech Astronomy Department has Sandisk USB 2.0 12-in-1 Card Reader/Writer. This card reader supports the following card types:

  • Compact Flash I
  • Compact Flash II
  • SD
  • miniSD
  • MultiMediaCard
  • RS-MMC
  • Memory Stick
  • Memory Stick Duo
  • Memory Stick PRO
  • Memory Stick PRO Duo
  • SmartMedia
  • xD
The card reader is installed on Draco in Robinson 52 but can be used on any ADPF Linux computer as well Windows XP, Windows 2000 and Mac OS X.

To use it under Linux, insert your card, then type:
> mount /mnt/flash

When you are finished, type:
> umount /mnt/flash

Then remove your media from the reader.
