Copying part of a FITS file

Often one needs to copy part of an image, especially a fully mosaiced plate image. Doing it in, for example, IRAF, does not retain the WCS properly. The routine to use is:

myfcopy.pl full.fits x1 x2 y1 y2 mypart.fits

myfcopy.pl uses FTOOLS to retain the proper fits header.
As always, you will be prompted for the command line arguments in case you do not provide them initially.

Fully mosaiced plates can now be downloaded from HPSS using the script:

hpssPullFullPlate xYYY

where x is one of J F N and YYY is a number between 001 and 894.
Currently available full plates.
