1991 - 92
Low Cost Teaching Aids and Equipments Programme :
- Low cost teaching aids introductory lectures by Sh. J.C. Soni.
- Workshop for primary school teachers, Nagpur Zilla Parishad.
- Workshop for secondary School teachers, Nagpur Zilla Parishad.
- Low cost telescope making camps at Nagpur.
- Low cost microscope making camps throughout the year.
Astronomy Popularisation :
- Sky watching sessions throughout Vidarbha for common people. Over
10,000 participants.
- Slide shows - over 15,000 people covered.
- Planetarium shows in collaboration with VASCSC, Ahmedabad.
- Planetarium shows at Wardha, Akola, Bhandara, Sewagram, Nagpur in
collaboration with VASCSC, Ahmedabad - over 2,500 people covered.
- 25 oil paintings on astronomy.
Amateur Astronomy :
- 6th Maharashtra Amateur Astronomers' Meet at Sewagram, Jan. 3, 1992.
- 2nd All India Amateur Astronomers' Meet at Sewagram, Jan. 4-5,
1992.
- Establishment of Network of Amateur Astronomy groups at Buldhana,
Kalmeshwar, Bhandara, Saoner, Chandrapur and Paratwada. Activation of
groups at Akola and Amravati.
- Training in map reading, loging of observations, telescope handling
and maintenance.
HRD Activities :
- Training for members in conduction of sky watching programmes.
- Training in taking slide shows.
- Exposure to frontiers of science.
- Training camps in organisation of activities for groups at
Kalmeshwar, Buldhana and Sakri (Dist. Dhule).
1992 - 93
Low Cost Teaching Aids and Equipments Programme :
- Microscope making camps through schools using liquid filled lenses
at Nagpur, Sakri, Paratwada, Yeotmal, Chandrapur, Wardha, Kalmeshwar,
Amravati, Phandarkawada, Akola and Buldhana.
- Training of resource persons at these places.
- Establishment of lending library of laboratory equipments and
materials at Nagpur and Buldhana.
- Workshops on low cost teaching aids and equipments at Nagpur,
Wardha Sakri, Phandarkawada, Akola, Yeotmal, Kalmeshwar, Amravati and
Buldhana.
- 10 minutes television programme on low cost teaching aids and
equipments on Doordarshan.
Astronomy and Science Popularisation :
- Anchoring of sky watching activity at Akola, Buldhana, Kalmeshwar,
Bhandara and Nagpur.
- Slide shows.
- Popular lectures by Prof. Jayant Narlikar, Prof. Ajit Kembhavi,
Prof. V.G. Bhide.
- Discussion on "Difficulties in science popularisation and possible
solutions" at Vidarbha level.
Amateur Astronomy :
- Regular training activity in telescope making, handling and
maintenance.
HRD Activities :
- Workshop on Astronomy and Astrophysics jointly with Indian Physics
Association and Nagpur University. Faculty included Prof. Jayant
Narlikar, Prof. Ajit Kembhavi, Prof. A.K. Sapre, Dr. Sanjay Wagh, Dr.
Subhash Karbelkar, Dr. Patrick Dasgupta.
- Workshops on HRD at Buldhana, Akola and Nagpur with science
popularisation activities in focus.
1993 - 94
Low Cost Teaching Aids and Equipments Programme :
- Camps at Saoner, Narkhed, Nagpur, Akola, Amravati, Paratwada,
Sakri, Chandrapur, Yeotmal, Phandarkawada, Warora, Wardha, Ajni and
surroundings, Bhandara and Ramtek.
- Running of activities at Nagpur and Buldhana.
- Establishment of equipment libraries at Sakri.
- Workshop activities.
Astronomy and Science Popularisation :
- Sky watching activity and slide shows.
- Popular lectures by Dr. Sanjay Wagh, Sh. Ashish Mahabal, Sh. Arun
Dolke, Sh. Vivek Pachkhede, Sh. C.S. Daoo.
- Initialisation of Project Total Solar Eclipse (TSE) activity
jointly with Central India Research Institute (CIRI), Nagpur.
- Basoli (Group of children artists) Kutuhal interaction begins
Amateur Astronomy :
- First Vidarbha Level Amateur Astronomers' Meet at Kalmeshwar with
Dr. Bhabha Vidnyan Lok Shikshan Sanstha, Kalmeshwar.
- Routine observation and training activity.
HRD Activity :
- Routine HRD activity begins at Akola, Buldhana, Kalmeshwar.
- Project TSE activity begins.
1994 - 95
Low Cost Teaching Aids and Equipments Programme :
- Exposure to 108 students and 25 volunteers during Kutuhal - Basoli
Chitra Natya Vidnyan residential camp.
- Routine library activity at Nagpur, Buldhana.
- Equipment library at Chandrapur.
- Routine camp activity at Buldhana, Paratwada, Akola, Kalmeshwar,
Saoner, Chandrapur.
- Exposure for awareness to over 1,00,000 people during the Kutuhal
- Basoli Janjagaran Abhiyan Yatra through 22 townships through lecture -
demonstrations.
- Exposure to over 5,000 people on National Science day - Feb. 28,
1995.
Astronomy and Science Popularisation :
- Popular lecture by Mr. V.S. Venkatraman, Madras at Bhandara and
Nagpur.
- Janjagran Abhiyan Yatra through 22 villages and townships.
- Popular lectures and slide shows through 20 schools.
- National Science Day campaign for "Childrens' Right to Experiment".
Amateur Astronomy :
- 2nd Vidarbha Amateur Astronomers' Meet at Bhandara - resource
persons team.
- Photometer built at IUCAA by member.
- Training in photometry.
- Project TSE activity.
- Lead in establishment of Vidarbha Astronomy Federation.
HRD Activities :
- Routine HRD activity.
- Training in Astrophotography, Solar eclipse by projection method.
