Attended Arvind Kejriwal's talk on the subject for which he has been awarded ths years Ramon Masaysay award. He has done monumental work to show light to Indians burdened by bribes. While the act which gives every citizen to know how any Govt. organisation is working, currently it works best to get ones jobs done without using bribes. Filing an RTI form costs just ten rupees and goes an extra mile. Hopefully more and more people will make use of it.

YWCA had its 5th Annual meeting for Racial Justce Program related to empowering women and eliminating racism. Anu and Sujata performed a small piece of Odissy. There were a couple of good pieces, one about racism and one about diversity, but overall I was not impressed with the presentations. Perhaps a few minutes to showcase something is not felt to be enough. Also, in the west women tend to be more empowered than their eastern counterparts, at least on the surface. There was hardly any printed material being distributed either. I guess if you buy the breakfast either you have done enough, or you will take the effort to find out more is what the underlying thought is.
