SN 2004gt:<br>

This SN was discovered by B. Monard
<a href="http://cfa-www.harvard.edu/iauc/08400/08454.html#item1"> 
(IAUC 8454)</a> on December 12, 2004, and absent on May 11, 2004, 
but rising photometry shows it is before peak.<br> 
<br>
The host galaxy 
<a href="http://nedwww.ipac.caltech.edu/cgi-bin/nph-objsearch?objname=ngc+4038&extend=no&out_csys=Equatorial&out_equinox=J2000.0&obj_sort=RA+or+Longitude&of=pre_text&zv_breaker=30000.0&list_limit=5&img_stamp=YES">NGC 4038</a> 
is at z=0.005477 (NED).<br>
<br>
Spectrum reported by Ganeshalingam et al. (IAUC 8456) shows this is a young Ib/c SN.
