This SN was discovered by LOSS
<a href="http://cfa-www.harvard.edu/iauc/08400/08476.html#item*"> 
(IAUC 8476)</a> on January 31, 2005, and absent on January 20, 2005, 
so discovered rather young.<br> 
<br>
The host galaxy 
<a href="http://nedwww.ipac.caltech.edu/cgi-bin/nph-objsearch?objname=ngc+3363&extend=no&out_csys=Equatorial&out_equinox=J2000.0&obj_sort=RA+or+Longitude&of=pre_text&zv_breaker=30000.0&list_limit=5&img_stamp=YES">NGC 3363</a> 
is at z=0.019233 (NED).<br>

A CCCP spectrum by obtained Soderberg and Fox (Atel 406) shows this is a type II SN.
