This SN was discovered by the LOSS
on May 2, 2005, and absent on April 20, 2005, and is 
rising - so very young.<br> 
<br>
The host galaxy 
<a href="http://nedwww.ipac.caltech.edu/cgi-bin/nph-objsearch?objname=ugc+8701&extend=no&out_csys=Equatorial&out_equinox=J2000.0&obj_sort=RA+or+Longitude&of=pre_text&zv_breaker=30000.0&list_limit=5&img_stamp=YES">UGC 8701</a> 
is at z=0.027359 (NED).<br>
<br>
Spectra by Modjaz and the CfA group, and by us (courtesy George) 
shows this is a young type II.
