The Old Guys Neighbourhood
These trees are old and sturdy. Having grown on the white dolomite rocks where the moisture is scarce, these trees are better adapted to the environs than young trees living in relatively good conditions - the young ones never develop a skin tough enough and as a result die when the environment changes rapidly or they fall prey to infections.
