I was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, in the early 1980s. My family moved to Portage la Prairie, Manitoba, when I was midway through elementary school; I grew up and went to high school there. Upon graduation, I moved to Victoria, British Columbia, Canada, to pursue my BSc in Astronomy and Physics. There I met my wife Jennifer; we were married in 2005. Our son Bronson was born in September, 2006. Shortly thereafter, we moved to lovely Pasadena, California where I am currently occupied in my PhD studies, once again in the field of Astrophysics.

Interests
When I'm not working or playing with Bronson, I like to spend my time reading science fiction, tinkering with my computer, and playing board games. I also have an interest in music, which I express by singing in the Caltech Glee Club.
