UVGEN UVGEN is a program which converts format-1 MERGE files to format-2 MERGE files. For details of the formats, see VLBHELP FORMAT or Appendix A of the User's Guide to the Caltech VLBI programs. Format-2 files contain the (u,v,w)-coordinates of the data points explicitly, while in Format-1 files only sufficient information is stored for it to be possible to recompute the coordinates. Most programs accept files in either format, but experiments involving spacecraft must be stored in Format-2. To run the program, type the command UVGEN (defined in VLB:LOGIN.COM). Two parameters are required: INPUT = "filename" : the name of the input (Format-1) file. OUTPUT = "filename" : a name for the new, output (Format-2) file. End the list of parameters with a slash (/) or end-of-file (control-Z). Program History Version 1.0: 1983 Jun 10. Version 1.1: 1983 Jul 19. Fix bug in comp. of U and V (RA->RAP). Changed output data records so U and V are at end of each baseline section. Version 1.2: 1983 Aug 3. Add W to version 2 files. T.J. Pearson, 1983 Nov 7
