"High resolution observations of proto-planetary disks in the mm wavelength regime"

I will review recent high angular resolution observations of proto-planetary disks around young pre-main sequence stars obtained with
long baseline interferometers in the wavelength range spanning from sub-millimeter to centimeters. In this wavelength regime, several
facilities, i.e. CARMA, SMA, Plateau de Bure and VLA, allow to image the dust and gas emission at Solar System size scales at the distance
of the nearby star forming regions. In particular, I will focus on the first results obtained from the ongoing survey of T Tauri circumstellar disks
in Taurus performed with CARMA at 1 and 3 mm. Characterized by a spatial resolution of fractions of arcsecond, at least a factor two better
than the existing observations, CARMA observations allow to determine the disk structure, the dust distribution and the gas kinematics, on a large
and homogenuous sample of stars providing an important step forward to our knowledge of the planetary formation and disk evolution.
