This is the same book used in Ay 20 for the last several years. Most of you probably already own it (which is why I am recommending it for Ay21). If you do not already have it, you can buy the version that is only the extragalactic part, or you can probably borrow a copy. It's on the expensive side.
Introduction to Cosmology , (first edition, 2003) by Barbara Ryden ISBN 0-8053-8912-1, (Addison Wesley)
This is a very nice book, at almost the perfect level for Ay21; it covers most of the cosmology topics we'll be looking at, but does not cover galaxies, galaxy formation, and other more astrophysical topcs.
Additional readings will be made available via the "Readings" link below, or handed out in class.
Collaboration policy: All problem sets must be entirely your own work; no exchanges/sharing of solutions is allowed. You may discuss approaches to problems with one another, in general terms, but the written solutions must be your own. If you get stuck, please see Swarnima or Prof. Steidel for help getting on the right track. It is also not permitted to consult problem set solutions from any previous version of the course.
