Hameetman A/V System
Hammetman is an auditorium in Cahill building with ~150 capacity. The AV system in Hammetman includes the following:
AUDIO: Two Wireless lapel and handheld microphones
These are projected to both house speakers and the MacMini for recording. These can be found in the lowest drawer at the podium
VIDEO: Rear Camera
The camera is connected to house MacMini for recording. Its remote can be found at the back of the room.
PROJECTOR:
The overhead projector is accessible via HDMI cable at the podium. This feed is also connected the MacMini for screen captures. you can find the instructions for that below.
Crestron Control Unit:
This unit has LCD panel on the podium. You can adjust room lighting, shades, projector + screen, and microphone volume + muting from there.
How to record a presentation/talk in Hameetman:
Recordings performed using the house MacMini via Zoom.

- Once you have talked to help@astro, here are the instructions you can refer to.
Prior setup to be done on the hameetman MacMini:
- Log in to hameetman.caltech.edu as a avuser, password XXX using Apple Screen Sharing, Mac command-K (connect to server), or RealVNC
- Start Zoom app
- Schedule a Zoom meeting with "Auto recording to cloud" ON
- Start the scheduled Zoom meeting
- "Share" -> Advanced" -> Enable the second camera for slides
Checklist before the meeting:
- In Hameetman ensure in the back of the room is "On" using the remote on the table at the rear control station
- House microphones should also best tested, this can be confirmed by the Zoom microphone input reading.
Retrieving a Recording:
- In the Zoom main window you would see "Open Recordings" link which will show the recent recording - If the recording is not there, it may still be processing. Please wait ~30 minutes for this to complete.
